Approximately 10 years ago Thomas Leonard the father of the coaching movement and one our our mentors came up with the idea that there were 7 environments. Environments are the physical and non-physical surroundings we find ourselves in and they can impact us more than we think...but we can impact and modify them too!

Each of these environments when optimized evolves a person to be the best they can be in a way that is relatively effortless. 

We have been fascinated with the idea of environments ever since we first heard this concept and we have applied these principles to our lives for many years.

There are now 10 environments.

Here are the 10:

1. Structural (home office possessions etc.) 
2. Financial (relationship with money etc.)
3. Network (Customers, web, social networking) 
4. Intimacy and Relationships (family, friends intimacy etc.) 
5. Self (Expression of gifts and talents etc.) 
6. Heart (your emotional landscape, emotional well being etc.) 
7. Physical (health fitness, physical well being etc.) 
8. Nature (time in nature etc.)  
9. Intangibles (values, energy source etc.) 
10. Memetic (whatever you're watching, reading, believing, experiencing etc.)  
    

The components of each of these environments are essential to your well being.  Curious?   

Environments impact the following areas of life and when we design them to suit us, they support us in making desired change relatively easily. (To use an example from a physical environment...do you think you will do your best work in a clear uncluttered area or in one in which you need a bulldozer to get to your desk...:-)
